Resume Guide for Bank Jobs in Pakistan
Commercial banks and Islamic banks hire thousands each year. Shape your CV for branch, operations, and graduate trainee programs.
What banks screen for first
Pakistani banks filter on education, age limits for trainee programs, and relevant experience for officer roles. Your CV should make degree class, university, and dates obvious in the first third of page one.
For branch roles they want customer handling, cash discipline, and sales targets. Mention any retail, telecom, or service desk work even if it was not in a bank.
Islamic banks often value Shariah awareness and compliance mindset. A short line about Islamic finance coursework or relevant training helps if you have it.
Skills and certifications
List MS Office, especially Excel. Banks run on spreadsheets and core banking systems. Name systems you have used if allowed: Finacle, Temenos, or internal tools.
AML and KYC knowledge is a plus for operations and compliance. Free or paid short courses can go under Certifications with completion dates.
English and Urdu fluency should be stated. Some roles need regional languages for branch placement in Punjab, Sindh, or KPK.
Graduate trainee programs
Campus hires compete on academics, extracurriculars, and clarity. Keep design conservative: no bright colors or photos unless the portal asks.
Highlight leadership in university societies, internships at any financial institution, and numerical achievements. Banks like evidence you can work under targets.
Apply on official career sites and major portals. Reference numbers and assessment tests are common; your CV must match what you enter in online forms.
Red flags to avoid
Inflated titles or salary claims get checked. Pakistani banks verify degrees and past employment for many roles.
Gaps without explanation hurt more in banking than in some startups. One line on family responsibility, health, or exam prep is enough.
Do not send the same generic CV for credit, branch, and IT security roles. Retitle your summary and reorder skills to match each posting.
